Adam’s Birthday!

Today is Adam’s Birthday! Woohoo! He turns 1 today. So you might be asking “1?” Sure, 1. When we got married instead of two we became one! So technically…we start all over! woohoo! We’re going to stay young forever! :) However, if you’re still old school and count by when he came out of his mother’s womb–which I’m sure she still does–Adam turns 27 today.

We started off with morning Mass at St. Louis said especially for him. We have dinner plans at Cheesecake Factory tonight and then who knows. We might set up his birthday present. Wiffy diffy got him a dartboard. Thanks to all those who have already been generous this week with your gifts already. The official birthday party will round out the birthday octave on Saturday with a “Wing and Rings” party at our house.

WEDDING #3

WEDDING #3

Mike and Rosanna's Wedding
Well, we just got back from our 3rd wedding of the month! Rosanna and Mike finally got hitched! :) It was a very lovely wedding held in their home town of San Benito, Texas. It’s about a 5 hour trip south to the Valley. We survived the drive but more importantly, Mike and Rosanna survived their wedding day. It was an event fillled with lots of tugs in every direction for them. Lots of us guests got lost unfortunately, but we finally made it to where we were supposed to be. We wish them continued blessings in their marriage!

LITTLE TOUCH OF HEAVEN

LITTLE TOUCH OF HEAVEN

It’s been wedding central in our lives. On October 25th, our friends Matt and Reyna were married and this past weekend November 8, John and Thuy were married. November 15, Rosanna and Mike are getting married.

Weddings are so lovely. They are wonderful reminders of who we are and what we are called to in the vocation of marriage. We witness the two become one in the eyes of God and our Church community–it’s a little touch of heaven. We see a beautiful blending of families and traditions. I must comment on John and Thuy’s wedding in particular since that was the most recent and she’s Vietnamese and he’s American. The reception stood out in my mind as the most unique I’ve ever experienced. Their families, from different cultures with different languages, were united by the marriage of John and Thuy. One of the highlights was the Tea Ceremony as part of the reception (although I believe it is traditionally the morning of the wedding). John and Thuy changed from their wedding attire to the traditional Asian dress and served their parents and grandparents who were all seated at one table. They also had other highlights that stood out…but you’d be reading for days if I went into them all.

Their wedding reminded me that in the face of differences in families, whether they be cultural or personal, the graces and blessings poured upon the couple through the Sacrament of Matrimony far exceed any of that.

BABY GABRIEL AND FAMILY

After the wedding we drove over to Plano to stay with the Shearer family. We got to see our little Godson, Gabriel. He’s just so precious… and SOOO cute! He’s starting to mimick facial expressions. His parents are teaching him well. :)

We also want to wish his mommy, Elizabeth Ann, a very happy birthday filled with many blessings!

HEAVY

HEAVY

Just a little update amist our busy lives. We’re in the 3rd trimester and Baby G is making his/her presence well known. Sharon is experiencing more aches and pains, but it is comforting to know the baby is quite active. Good signs.

Adam is plowing away on his projects:

  • Ron Parks Photography is in full steam. We’re aiming for an end of the year release.
  • An enhanced version of our own personal site is under way. Not a total redesign. More like a version x.2 thing.
  • Adam’s side project, Texas Toast, is making progress as well. Our flagship product, ClearPitch, has reached the development phase.
