On the Eleventh Day of Christmas…
…we celebrate the feast of the first native born American saint, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton. She was a wife, mother, convert, teacher, foundress of a girls’ school and nun–all in 46 short years no less. St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, pray for us!
If you’re still looking for something fun to do to wrap up the Christmas season, don’t forget that Epiphany right around the corner. Traditionally celebrated on January 6, or the 12th night, we celebrate Christ’s manifestation to the wise men. (I’ll write more on that later…) I found this great website–CatholicCulture.com. I convinced Adam that we should have a little 12th night party for the family on Saturday. I’m going to make a small cake (that won’t add to much to our thighs or bellies) with a baby Jesus in it. We’ll let Therese decorate it with candies and other yummies. Whoever gets the piece with baby Jesus gets to be by king/queen on Sunday! I have big dreams of no cooking, dishes, or diapers on Sunday. Adam on the other hand seemed more concerned about losing and being stuck with cooking and dishes.
We’ll keep you posted!
