Baptized in Christ
Saturday Gianna was received into the Church as a sister in Christ through the Sacrament of Baptism! Welcome to the family of God, sweet child of ours!
It was a most blessed Baptism Mass. We are so humbled and honored that Fr. Tim was able to come down for the weekend to baptize Gianna. Being the first Saturday of the month, the Mass was in honor of our Lady. And the reading for today was the annunciation as told by Luke. Fr. Tim’s homily was so lovely and so special. He was reflecting on why we honor Mary and he mentioned that often times we teach our children because she said, “Yes.” But “yes” can be such a passive word. And what Mary said was more than that. She was saying, “I give to you the greatest gift you have given to me–my life.” May we ALL be as ready as our Blessed Mother to give God back our lives. “Maybe it be done unto me according to thy Word.” Luke 1:38
Gianna was a sweet little darling during her baptism. She peacefully slept right through it only stirring slightly during the important parts–the exorcism, and receiving the Holy Spirit. Then immediately after the baptism, Fr. Tim consecrated her to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

And many thanks to Dominic and Manisha who graciously have taken on the role of Gianna’s God parents. As their baptism gift to her they wrote for an Apostolic Blessing from Pope Benedict XVI.

What a beautiful day! Thanks for including us. Sorry we had to scoot out – but the Aggies won! Whoop!!
