Our 5 Year Anniversary

pope2.jpg

No greater blessing can come to your married life than pure conjugal love, loyal and true to the end.  May, then, this love with which you join your hands and hearts today, never fail, but grow deeper and stronger as the years go on.  And if true love and the unselfish spirit of perfect sacrifice guide your every action, you can expect the greatest measure of earthly happiness that may be allotted to man in this vale of tears.

-from the ‘Exhortation to Couples’ from the 1964 Roman rite of Catholic marriage

Dear beloved husband.  Thank you for the best 5 years of my life. Thank for loving God first and me second.  For our 4 children. For the laughs and the tears.  For the helping me grow to be a better daughter of God.  For being my hero, my knight in shining armor.  For being a man of integrity, perservierence and deep prayer.  For knowing how to fix EVERYTHING (even it if means staying up until 2:30 in the morning trying to find out what’s wrong with the clothes drier).  And for giving me the greatest measure of earthly happiness…I love you.

Fulton’s Surgery update

Fulton’s surgery went well.  Dad was with him before the surgery and Fulton did great until they had to wheel him away to the operating room.  I was able to be see him when he woke from the anesthesia.  He was quite a bit out of sorts and not a happy camper.  But by the time we got home he agreed to have some lunch and use his cutest big brown eyes to ask for some chocolate candy.

The doctor said there was a little fluid in his ears and some inflamation that was probably due to him getting over an ear infection.

Thanks for all the prayers.   I’m sure Fulton will be quite a bit more suspicious the next time I let him eat 5 popsicles for breakfast, but hopefully that won’t be for a very long time.

Fulton’s Ear Tube Surgery

…is scheduled for tomorrow at noon.  I’m excited to see the difference it will make in his hearing and speech.  Thanks to all the Gretencords in Indiana who were so encouraging and affirming about him having the surgery.

Thanks in advance for all the prayers!
