A Blue Bell Birthday!

So yesterday was the 8th anniversary of my 25th birthday.  We took a trip out to the Blue Bell Creamery where Blue Bell ice cream is made.

First we went on the tour…complete with hats!

I think the kids would agree that the best part of the tour…the ice cream at the end.

Down the street about 8 miles is the Monastery of St. Clare.  They raise and sell miniature horses.  There are only 4 sisters in the order. The oldest is in her 90s. The youngest, Sister Angela is in her 50s.

It was a wee warm outside and the kids were content playing on the fake horses inside.

I’ve been to the Monastery before, maybe 15 years ago…how sad they only have 4 nuns left. I still have a postcard from there, it is a very nice place. And of course the Blue Bell factory rocks! We can get Blue Bell here but it is like $6 a tub…not a cheap as I remember when I lived in Texas.
