My Growing Girls
Today Gianna and Cecilia had their yearly well checks. It’s oh so fun to take all the kids to the doctor’s office! One lady saw us in the waiting room and walked back out with her kid. Another was passing us in the hall and said, “Oh my!” Really people? Have you never seen this many kids with an adult outside of a daycare? And this was truly when the kids were doing okay. Fulton in the exam room with us near the end…now that’s another story. But I digress.
So the girls are doing great. Cecilia ia a whopping 35″ tall and 29 lbs. This put her in the 100th percentile for height and 70th for weight. We were so sure that she was off the charts on her weight, but no, it’s her height. She’s a little giant! It’s no wonder her 2T clothes don’t fit her! I’ve emptied most of her 2T things from her drawer and closet. I’m holding on to a few really stretching items that still fit even with her cloth diapers on her. The only thing she is behind in is her speech, and we’re still making slow progress with that.
Gianna weighed in at 34 lbs and 41″. Although we tease her that she is the pokey little puppy, she is maintaining her 80th percentile in height and 40th percentile in weight. After telling Dr. G what a picky eater she is, he told her she needs to eat the food I give her. Umm. Yea, does that really work? Well, today she asked for two servings of green beans. We’ll see how long that lasts.
It’s usually my tradition to take the 4year old out for ice cream after her booster shots. Unfortunately Baskin Robbins wasn’t open at 10:30. But Muffin settled for coming home and having a quick bowl before choir class. Everyone but Fulton got ice cream. (Recall my earlier comment about his behavior in the exam room.) it was a hard lesson for him, but I don’t know if he’ll act like that again. But we’ll see tomorrow.
