Thank you!

Thank you to all of you who sponsored us for the Walk for Life!  As of last night, we raised $3,120!!!  We were a little worried there until the last few days when so many of you generously came through! We now have a larger goal to strive for next year!

The kids had a blast.  Perhaps the highlight was the fun straws at the water station and the cookies for desert at lunch time.  Thanks also to the Cey family for sharing the stroller–especially little Clare.  Thanks also for Texas Alliance for Life and all they do to defend and protect human life.

Mission of Divine Mercy

In case you’re willing to travel to celebrate Divine Mercy Sunday.

There will be a Divine Mercy Mass at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Mission of Divine Mercy in New Braunfels. Our friends the Lemmons have told us great things about this community and we’ll be joining them on Sunday there. They also mentioned they are very child friendly and if you plan on going, dress weather appropriate as the new chapel does not have walls yet.

Hope to see you there!

WHO????

Who turned off the heat??? It’s April 7 and 36 degrees outside right now!

Walk for Life

A big huge thank you to all of you who sponsored Therese in the Texas Alliance Walk for Life!  We raised over $2,800!!  Therese won the “Top Youth Award” for the Georgetown walk and our church won the most pledges for the walk as well.

God blessed the earth yesterday with rain before the walk and just enough clear weather for the walk before the sun warmed us up too much.  We had a great time and saw a few friends and made a few new ones.

If you didn’t get a chance to make a pledge, you can still sponsor a walker until June 30, at Texas Alliance for Life.

Walk for Life

We will be participating in the Texas Alliance for Life, Walk for Life on June 17.  Our goal this year is to raise $5,000.  If you would like to sponsor us, we are collecting pledges under Therese’s name at:

No amount is too small. Thank you for your support!

Busy Saturday

My feet are currently throbbing from the long day we had. It was good though.

Greg and Julie Alexander had an open house for their new Alexander House Marriage Resource Center. It is clear that the work they do is pleasing to God and that he wants them to continue. Theirs is an amazing story. EWTN is running a series on the work they do. Unfortunately, we don’t have EWTN so we haven’t seen it, but we hear it’s awesome. If some nice soul out there has been taping it and wants to lend it to us, it would be much appreciated. :)

After our trip to the open house, we went to celebrate Isai Molina’s first birthday. What a cute little guy. His parents were quite wise in having it at a park…not only is there minimal stuff to clean up but there was a play ground to occupy the little ones for quite a while. Isai and his mom, Alissa, come to our mom’s group and have been a wonderful contribution. I think Isai and Therese are kindred spirits in screaming! I sat wondering the other day if maybe it’s because their moms are such passionate women!

And while we’re on the topic of screaming… I’ve been telling Therese how important it is for us to be nice and not to scream at the other kids especially on the play ground. SO, this afternoon everytime she saw a kid coming her way, she would say, “nice, nice, nice.” It was very cute.

Mary’s Birthday

Happy Birthday Mary! Our Blessed Mother and Jesus’ mother, Mary, turned another birthday yesterday! I hope I still look that good when I turn her age…some 2000+ years old! ;)

We dropped the ball on going to mass unfortunately…we got the time wrong. We’ll hope that at least the thought counts for a small prayer from her.

I made a chocolate birthday cake, lit a candle on top, and we sang Mary “happy birthday” after dinner. We even let Therese have a piece of cake…her real full fledge piece of sugary goodness. She quite liked it.

St. Therese’s Feast Day

Yesterday was the feast of St. Therese! Happy feast day to our little flower, Fr. Tim, and Katrina! To celebrate the feast day of our daughter’s patron saint and namesake, we went to San Antonio to celebrate Mass at the National Basillica of the Little Flower AND we saw the movie, THERESE.

What a very blessed day it turned out to be! The movie was just lovely. It was very nicely done and truely brought to life this simple and great saint. We have been waiting so long for the movie to come out and it was so exciting to finally see it!

The Mass of the Roses at the Basillica was awesome. They started out with vespers–sung. Our Therese was getting tired by that time so she wasn’t as good as she usually is, but she still received many graces. Afterward everyone received a blessed rose. We then went to see the relic of St. Therese and touched that sweet rose and our rosaries to it. Thank you Jesus for such a great saint and wonderful way to celebrate her life.

Therese: The Story of a Soul

Friday night a one-woman drama on the life of St. Therese was performed at our parish. Adam and I had arranged for the play to come to our community with the help of several sponsors. It was produced by St. Luke Productions and directed by Leonardo Defillippis.

It was simply beautiful. What a blessing to have the life of this great Saint come to life for us! We had a great turn out with over 400 people in attendance–and lots of youth! It’s been interesting to hear people’s reactions. Everyone we’ve talked to so far loved it. It’s also been interesting to hear how God was speaking to different people through this play.

Margaret and Michael Masny, the actress who played Therese in the drama and her husband (who is also the technical assistant) stayed with Adam and I. They are an awesome couple. They were actually married the same day AND time that we were. I also think they met about the same time we did as well. They are expecting their first child. Please keep them in your prayers.
